About Steve
A former acupuncturist who learned SEO to build his own practice, and now helps other therapists do the same.

My story
How I ended up doing this
For around 20 years I worked as an acupuncturist and natural health therapist.
Like a lot of therapists, I found out early that being good at what you do isn't enough. If people can't find you, they can't book you. Brilliant treatment doesn't help anyone from page five of Google.
So I taught myself websites, SEO and marketing, and used them to build a thriving practice.
Before I specialised in therapists, I built websites and did local SEO for all sorts of local businesses. A good local website works the same way whoever you are: people need to trust you, understand what you do, and find it easy to book.
Then other therapists started asking how I'd done it. Helping a few colleagues turned into a second business running alongside my clinic, and later into seven years teaching marketing to final-year acupuncture students.
Today I bring both sides together: the therapist who knows what your clients need to hear, and the web and SEO person who knows how to make sure they hear it.
Why this matters
Why therapists like working with me
Most SEO people understand SEO.
Most therapists understand therapy.
I've spent years with a foot in both camps (which is less painful than it sounds).
Because I've been a therapist myself, I understand:
How therapists want to come across
Professional, genuine, never overcooked.
What potential clients look for
The little details that decide whether someone clicks 'book'.
The trust signals that matter
The small things that make people feel they're in safe hands.
Professional and personal, both at once
Polished, without sanding off your personality.
Why therapists hate pushy marketing
And why it rarely works in this line of work anyway.
Where to start
The handful of changes that usually make the biggest difference.
That shapes every recommendation I make.
It's not just about rankings and traffic.
It's about the right people finding you, trusting you and feeling comfortable enough to get in touch.

My approach
How I work
I don't think every therapist needs a big marketing strategy or an expensive monthly retainer.
Usually a handful of well-chosen changes does more than a mountain of busywork.
My approach is simple:
- 1Understand where you are now
- 2Find what's holding your website back
- 3Focus on what'll make the biggest difference
- 4Keep it practical and easy to understand
No jargon.
No unnecessary complexity.
Just clear recommendations, and work that gets done.

Let's talk about your website.
Want to get found, freshen up your website or just figure out what's holding it back? I'd be happy to have a chat. No pressure, no hard sell.
